Indonesia - West Sumatra - Manijau

Danau Maninjau (Lake Maninjau) is 38km west of Bukittinggi. This lake is the rivals of Danau Toba (Lake Toba) at North Sumatra because of its beauty. The lake is 17km long and 8km wide.

The final descent to Danau Maninjau from Bukittinggi is unforgettable. The road has 44 turns that offers stunning views over the shimmering blue lake and the surrounding hills.

It is a very nice place to relax, swimming, watching the clouds and having ikan bakar (grilled fish).
